Oval Padstack

Creation of Oval Padstack

1. Open the package in the Library Editor whose pad is to be changed (or oval/elliptical Padstack can be created separately from the Padstack editor)

2. Choose the “Change Padstack” function tool → Select Padstack (first option tool) → Click on the workspace. A window as shown below will popup.

3. Select the “New/Edit” tab.

4. Set the required hole diameter in the “Hole diameter” for the Padstack.

5. Click on “Show Layers” button. The list of the layers will be listed.

6. Set the shape to Oval in “Shape” of layers and add the X diameter and Y diameter for the pad

Here the hole size - 0.0500”,
X diameter - 0.1000” for all layers except for the mask layers (Component and solder mask layers is 10mils added to other layer = 0.1100”)
Y diameter - 0.0600” for all layers except for the mask layers (Component and solder mask layers is 10mils added to other layer = 0.0700”)

Ensure that “Use” for all layers is checked.

7. After entering the required informations, click on“Make” such that the changes are reflected on the Padstack as seen in the preview window.

8. Finally choose “Select” so that the Padstack will be changed for the package
